Love Island 's Kady McDermott has revealed that she secretly left the villa after her altercation with Malia Arkian in the 2016 series.

Fans will remember the duo's explosive fight which led to Malia being removed from the show altogether.

Kady, 23, has claimed that she was punched in the face and left with a bloody nose that producers told her wouldn't air because "it wasn't Ex On Tthe Beach".

The reality star said that ITV bosses told her mum about the fight and Kady had to be reassured after she had a panic attack.

Malia has denied any physical contact happened, telling the Mail Online that Kady is a "compulsive liar".

Kady, who made it to the finale with her now ex Scott Thomas, had retweeted a clip of the infamous row earlier this week.

She mentioned she ended up with a nosebleed, explaining further to OK! magazine : "Malia punched me in the face and they didn't show it.

"I had a panic attack and everything. She literally punched me once in the face, nosebleed.

"I was out of the villa for a bit, and the producers spoke to me and were like ‘Kady, just so you know, we’re not going to show this. This isn’t Ex on the Beach, it’s not what Love Island is about’."

"They apologised so, so much, they told my mum. I was fine, I was a bit shaken up, but that's why she got removed immediately."

Kady has since added via her rep: "I do not condone violence on another person and this behaviour wasn’t tolerated by the producers or team working on the show and I thank them for removing Malia from the villa for breaking show rules."

In the episode the girls were all gathered around the firepit when Kady accidentally spilled some wine on her love rival's legs.

Malia stormed off, saying: "If you want to speak to me come in there because you don't do that on the first night. You don't do that to me."

"Do you think I'd f***ing waste my wine on your leg?" Kady fired back.

Malia began swearing and shoving her, but it seems a lot more went on than viewers knew.

She was immediately kicked out of the villa and flown back to the UK within hours.

A Love Island spokesperson said at the time: "Following an altercation last night, one of the contestants on Love Island, Malia, has been taken out of the villa."

It comes after speculation over the sudden departure of 2019 islander Sherif Lanre after just nine days in the villa.

The 20-year-old chef was booted off the show for breaking the rules, which he referred to as a "silly mistake".

While the exact reason for his exit has yet to be revealed, a TV insider told the Mirror: "Sherif made a silly mistake and was immediately summoned to the Beach Hut – it wasn't a criminal matter and he was spoken to and agreed to leave.

"Sherif knew he had to leave immediately after being called to the Beach Hut.

"No security were involved."
