Selling Sunset’s Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet had us gushing over their on-screen romance and even tied the knot on the show where estate agents sell multimillion dollar homes to the rich and famous. The couple moved out of their West Hollywood apartment and headed to Valley Village in January, and we’ve been given an exclusive look behind closed doors.

Mary is no stranger to visiting luxe properties, but this time she can call it her home with husband Romain. The loved-up duo invited OK! VIP Club Members inside for a guided tour of their $1.5 million three-bedroom pad to share their five favourite things. You don't want to miss out on the exclusive video!

Clearly a woman on the go, the reality star admitted that her first favourite thing about their new home is their coffee machine. Mary, 40, told OK!, “The Nespresso machine is used daily, and we could not live without it, it is in my personal opinion the best coffee maker ever invented.”

The reality star couple, who are leasing the house so that they can get a feel for the area, explained that another part of their new pad that they love is their outdoor space.

Romain, 27, explained that in their previous apartment they only had a balcony, but now they have a back and front garden which is “perfect” for chihuahuas Niko and Zelda. The garden includes an exquisite water feature, huge trees and luxurious outdoor furniture.

Mary and Romain then took us into their bedroom and explained why they love their gold bedside lamps. “They are just super sexy , they look like pieces of art and then when they’re illuminated it just gives this nice sexy glow in the room and so I think it’s just a great ambiance.”

Another favourite part of the couple’s house is their famous artwork which is displayed all around the house. Mary told us that some of her favourite artists are also clients at the The Oppenheim Group.

Showing off his Campbell soup collection, she explained “I love my Mr Brainwash paintings, I love him as an artist and he happens to be a friend of us at The Oppenheim Group so I love to be able to show off his pieces.”

Another artist Mary admires is James Goldcrown. The Selling Sunset star pointed out the stunning paintings which hang in her bathroom and said: “I not only love James as a person, he is a client and a friend but I love his artwork he’s got the coolest hearts.”

Here, Mary, 40, and Romain, 27, open up about their family dynamics, her plans to freeze her embryos and what’s in store for our favourite estate agents…

We’re excited about the return of Selling Sunset. What canwe expect from season four?

Mary: We can’t wait. We haven’t started filming, but it will likely be in the next month or two, as Covid is lightening up. It usually takes four or five months to film a season and we get two weeks off.

Romain: Every cast member has so much going on, so there’s going to be a lot to show. There will be our new house and some projects I’m going to remodel.

Mary: I have a few big clients and upcoming listings. I have one listing which would be a very exciting face for fans. Heather [Rae Young] is getting married, Christine [Quinn] is pregnant, Amanza [Smith] is doing her interior design and trying to find the father of her kids and Chrishell [Stause] has been working really hard. Plus, Romain and I still need to freeze my embryos in case we do want to have a kid in the future.

When do you plan to have embryo freezing, Mary?

This year. I should have done it already but there’s been Covid and work is so busy. I also got false confidence that I’m good to go because my fertility results came back very good, so I was like, “I have time.” But it’s been a year and half year since and I’ve now turned 40. I’m not getting any younger. I’m going to do the embryos as they have the best chance of survival, because if I’m not with Romain, I’m not having a kid.

Could you have another child naturally?

I’m sure I could, but we’re just not ready right now. I’d say we won’t be for the next two years. I want to freeze them just to make sure I have that security. If I can do it naturally, great.

You had Austin when you were 16. Was it difficult becoming a mother at that age?

Oh yeah. I was a single mom. His dad left when he was six-months-old and I never got any support, so it was very difficult to go through college. My parents did help a bit and they’ve been great, but it was just a very difficult time. Now I’ve been able to pursue my own career and not worry about someone else so I don’t have this huge desire to have another kid. But I would never take that experience away from Romain, so as long as we have everything figured out and he knows I’m not just going to give up my career. But it still takes a lot, regardless of having a nanny, so we have to make sure we’re ready for it.

How does it feel to hear Mary say she would have another child for you, Romain?

Romain: I love it and I do appreciate it, but we need to see each other more to think about it properly as we’re so busy. What is the point of having a child if you can’t see your wife and baby? I know she’s doing it for me, but I told her that whenever we make the decision I also want her to want it, as that’s important for me. It’s not for right now. Everything is working very well between us and it would be silly to not enjoy it.

Mary: It’s difficult. We barely see each other at the moment. We’re dying to see each other more. We’re essential workers and everyone is remodelling or selling their homes.

The show has become huge. How has that felt?

Mary: It’s strange. We’ve all been doing this for so many years and we still do exactly what we did before, but now we just have eyes on us. It’s super exciting but bizarre that we’re so fascinating.

Romain: When season three came out we realised how big it had become, with people stopping us wherever we go and lining up in front of the office.

Is there a negative side to its success?

Mary: Yes. I don’t get as much hate as some of the girls, but I also don’t give out as much negativity – and you get back what you give. I know Covid has made people upset, so I try to be sympathetic, as it’s not necessarily towards us. But it’s still hurtful sometimes, especially when it’s completely inaccurate and really mean.

What do people say to you?

Mary: I recently rented Romain a motorcycle and people were saying, “Everyone else is suffering, how dare you flash your wealth in our face.” People also say Romain is only with me because I’m his sugar momma. I’d like to make clear I don’t pay anything for Romain. We do everything 50/50 and when we go out he always pays because he’s proud. I do not support him and I never have.

Romain: People would tell her I was there for money, but now they’ve seen us get married it has changed a lot. We don’t have to sell it or explain ourselves to anyone, so I let it go.

Has the age gap between you ever bothered you?

Mary: In the beginning. I was shocked when I found out. But Romain is so mature and doesn’t act like his age. Once it started getting serious, I actually got cold feet because I thought there’s no way he can be this into it. I thought he was going to find a younger girl and something better. I started backing out but he wouldn’t let me. I’m so glad he didn’t because he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

Romain: I remember she asked me on our first date my age and she was like, “Oh my God!” Later on the relationship was so good it made us almost forget. It doesn’t mean that if I dated someone of my age that they’d make me happier
than Mary. She is the one who makes me the happiest and we love each other so I don’t care about age or what anyone thinks.

What is your relationship like with Austin, Mary’s son, Romain?

Romain: We get on well. He recently moved near us, so we get to see him more, and Mary is helping him find a job he’ll like. Every time we see him we have fun.

Mary: They have a very easy relationship. We’re not trying to push a stepfather and son relationship. It’s not like he’s
a little kid who needs guidance or a stepdad. He’s just pals with everybody.

You’ve been married for three years. Would you ever renew your vows?

Mary: I think it would be nice for our 10-year anniversary. We signed our marriage certificate three years ago and then we had our actual wedding in October of that year, which was on the show. I’ve been married before, so I was totally fine just getting married on a beach in Bali. But then we compromised with a wedding here and the honeymoon in Bali. We were supposed to go last year and we got turned away at the airport. The travel restriction was going to go in place three hours before we landed so they wouldn’t let us on the plane. I cried all the way home.

How is Chrishell doing after her divorce and splitting from her boyfriend?

Mary: She’s good. She’s moving forward and she’s a positive person. When she first split up from Justin [Hartley, her ex-husband] she handled it better than anyone I know could have. Of course, she was absolutely heartbroken, but she’s recovered incredibly. She’s the strongest person I know. She’s had a tough couple of years and no matter what happens she bounces back better and faster than anyone I’ve ever met. She doesn’t want to waste any more time and she doesn’t have time for nonsense. She knows what she wants.

Christine said you weren’t loyal as you didn’t like her Instagram post announcing her pregnancy, Mary. What did you think about that?

Mary: We don’t follow each other. I don’t know if there was any sort of loyalty, but I don’t really consider trawling anybody’s pages you don’t follow a measure of loyalty. But I did call her and congratulate her and she said thanks. I don’t think pushing a heart button on a page means anything. I found out through the press she was pregnant. I’m really happy for her.

How are things with Christine?

Mary: I thought they were good but we just don’t talk much. But now, after she’s done that, I’m not so sure [laughs]. I’m always willing to be friends with her again if she is able to treat people fairly and kindly. I don’t know what her motivations are for doing stuff like this, whether it’s media stuff or attention. I’m not feeling very optimistic about a reconciliation, but we’ll see.

And finally, tell us about your beautiful new home…

Mary: We moved in January. I love the yard for the dogs, and the privacy – especially now with the show. I also love the living area. It has vaulted ceilings and a fireplace.

Romain: The living room is so big and open and we get so much sunlight. We also have a fountain in the front yard which the dogs love.

Mary: We’re leasing this house so we can get a feel for the area. We’re trying to decide if we want to remodel it and make it our dream home or buy our dream house. We’d love a modern farmhouse. I would want a pool and more land.
