Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia is being compared to Gilmore Girls, but this mother/daughter duo certainly is not the Gilmores. The new Netflix series follows Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry), a mature 15-year-old who is always putting up with the antics of her carefree 30-year-old mother, Georgia (Brianne Howey). When Georgia moves Ginny and her young son Austin (Diesel La Torraca) to a small New England town, Ginny thinks they will finally be settling down like a “normal” family. Unfortunately, things don’t quite pan out that way.

Will ‘Ginny & Georgia’ return to Netflix for Season 2?
Ginny & Georgia has been Netflix’s highest-rated series since it debuted February 24, 2021, and it shows no sign of slowing down. Though the series has been met with mix-reviews, clearly, creator Sarah Lampert has done something right.
After 10-episode, Season 1 of the series came to a thundering conclusion. Ginny has seemingly kidnapped her brother, Austin. Georgia has become Wellsbury’s First Lady-to-be and a two-time murder suspect and Ginny is totally on the outs with the MANG and Max.
Despite the high views, Netflix has not yet renewed the freshman series for Season 2, but from what we can see, it’s only a matter of time. It took Lorelai and Rory Gilmore a slew of seasons to be on the ousts, but Ginny is offically fed up with her mother. “She’s doing exactly what her mother does: Always running,” Lampert told O.
Why is Taylor Swift so upset about Netflix’s ‘Ginny & Georgia’?
Despite its popularity, Ginny & Georgia is getting mix-reviews from critics because of its confusing storylines. However, Taylor Swift had a downright negative review for the show after a joke at her expense.
On the show, Georgia discovers that Ginny is sexually active. The 15-year-old then replied, “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.” It seems like Swift has had enough of people speculating about her love life.
“Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back,” she tweeted. “How about we stop degrading hard-working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY. Also, @netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you Happy Women’s History Month I guess.”
Netflix has not commented on the joke or the vast number of Swifties that are spamming their accounts at the moment.
Hunter’s ‘I Can Barely Breathe’ lyrics have a deep meaning
Though Ginny & Georgia has some bumps, one of the most endearing moments on the show is when Ginny’s boyfriend, Hunter (Mason Temple) performs the song, “I Can Barely Breathe” for her. Written by Greg Shulman and Agatha Kaspar and performed by Temple and actor Rebecca Ablack (who plays Padma in the show), Hunter sings the song to Ginny to show her how much he cares about her.
Honestly, it’s the perfect moment in this sometimes chaotic show. The lyrics read,
