Ever since The New York Times‘ released the Framing Britney Spears documentary earlier this month, celebrities have been getting called out. Brit’s fans created the #WeAreSorryBritney hashtag on social media to share clips from the media and people who mistreated her over the years. Justin Timberlake was one of those people.
Britney and Justin famously dated from 1999 to 2002 and their breakup was heavily covered in the media. Justin is facing criticism on how he crafted a narrative of Britney being a cheater and solely to blame for their breakup. Also, let’s not forget how he exposed Janet Jackson’s nipple on camera during their Super Bowl 2004 performance and didn’t defend her when she was publically slut-shamed for it.
Justin recently apologized in an Instagram post and his wife, Jessica Biel, is supporting him through the controversy. She left an encouraging comment: “I love you. ❤️”
