A mum has left others in tears by sharing an emotional letter written by a headteacher.
The thoughtful message was sent out to parents at a school during the national lockdown.
It saw the headteacher reassure mums and dads they are doing a great job.
One mum was so touched she shared the letter on Facebook, which reads: "Dear Parents/Carers, Today I write to you as a mother first. This week has been tough.
"Week three of lockdown and as a parent I have felt the strain this week."
The headteacher then explained she had written the letter to “say WELL DONE”.
She continued: "You are surviving a pandemic!
"Whatever your personal circumstances, we think you are doing a great job.
"If your child has had lots of microwave meals, stayed up too late, played too much on the Xbox, and not finished all their school work…THAT’S OK!
"We know our pupils are safe, loved and cared for, and that’s the most important thing at the moment."
The headteacher also said that parents shouldn't worry if their child is unable to complete the work sent to them by the school.
She added: "All we ask is you do your best.
"If your best is a quick 30 minutes of reading or times tables here and there… that’s ok!
"Please do not let school work put any extra pressure on you when you are trying to hold down jobs, earn a living and keep your children safe."
She finished the letter by reassuring parents that although school is “closed”, it is not shut “emotionally.”
The headteacher concluded: “If you need support… a chat… a virtual cuppa, a cry… we are here!
“Take care, stay safe and remember we think you are all doing amazing.”
The mum shared the sweet note to the Facebook group Lockdown Tips & Ideas, with the caption: “This Headteacher is fab! From a local Primary school.”
Fellow parents certainly appreciated it being shared, as the post racked ip more than 10,000 likes.
One exclaimed: “Excuse me while I just remove whatever is in my eye.”
Another said: “Aww WOW, I'd love to get a letter like this."
