Kate Middleton and Prince William: A look at their 2020 highlights

Kate Middleton is known for her extensive jewellery collection in which she holds expensive pieces including sentimental jewels from Princess Diana. Thanking fans for their birthday messages, the image was from when the couple visited Batley Community Centre in Yorkshire. For the occasion, the Duchess stunned in a pair of earrings which are now sold out everywhere.

The Royal Train tour saw the couple travel up and down the country thanking key workers for their work throughout the pandemic.

It saw the Cambridge’s embark on a three day tour.

One of those visits including that to Batley Community Centre where Kate and William met volunteers who have supported elderly members of the community throughout the pandemic.

Posting a picture from the day on their official Instagram page, the caption read: “Thank you for your kind wishes on The Duchess’ birthday.

“Birthdays have been very different in recent months, and our thoughts continue to be with all those working on the front line at this hugely challenging time.”

The picture shows the Duchess wearing a ditsy floral mask with a navy jacket.

Underneath she is wearing a cream crew-neck jumper.

While Kate wears expensive jewellery pieces on regular occasions, she often decides to recycle them.

On this occasion, the royal was wearing her Simone Rocha Faux-Pearl Curb-Chain Earrings.

The £349 earrings which are stocked on the likes of Farfetch have become a staple piece in Kate’s jewellery collection.

The description of the earrings reads: “Chunky gold-tone curb-chain links adorned with round faux pearls and finished with post-back fastenings to hold them safely in place.”

Since posting the photo on Instagram, the earrings are now sold out across most available platforms, but they are still available on Farfetch at the time of writing.

She first debuted the stunning earrings in a video filmed for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards.

Kate also wore them when speaking to armed force families released to mark Remembrance Day.

On all occasions, the royal has opted for a completely different outfit, showing that these earrings are a staple piece in her wardrobe that go with all outfits.

The Duchess’ jewellery collection also includes pieces which previously belonged to Princess Diana.

Also on their Royal Train tour, Kate stunned in her blue sapphire earrings.

Given to Kate as a wedding present from William, the earrings were refashioned into single drop earrings suspended from a diamond lever.

The Duchess also has a similar pendant, which she will also sometimes pair with the earrings.

The deep blue stones are encrusted in sparkling diamonds.

Deborah Papas Gemologist Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn previously explained that these earrings are worth a fortune.

The expert said: “It is difficult to estimate the value without closer inspection but on the assumption the sapphires are of the same source, Sri Lanka (still referred to as Ceylon in the trade), they could be worth as much as £35,000.”

Kate will often sport these jewels on special occasions, and Princess Diana also favoured her sapphire earrings for royal engagements.
