Star Wars: The Force Awakens UNSEEN footage
When Star Wars started its third set of films, the sequel trilogy, fans did not know what they were getting themselves in to. With a new cast of characters front-and-centre, The Force Awakens showed off an entirely new era of the legendary cinematic universe. Despite this, it was not without its classic characters making appearances throughout the flick. Not all of the original cast were happy with their return to the franchise, however.
Director JJ Abrams changed how the original stars were perceived, including Han Solo (played by Harrison Ford) being on the run for smuggling again, Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) as a general, and C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) with a brand new red arm.
Anthony Daniels himself has now revealed that he didn’t like the red arm on 3PO, and even “argued” with JJ about its inclusion.
In a recent interview, Anthony gave all the details about the short spat he had with JJ over the shiny droid’s new addition.
Speaking specifically about The Force Awakens, Anthony first confessed: “Adored working on that film. Adored it.”

Anthony then began spilling the tea over his disagreement with the famed director, adding: “Apart from one argument, right at the beginning with the director, with J.J.”
The 74-year-old then mimicked the conversation he had with JJ, whilst referencing C-3PO’s look in 1977’s A New Hope.
Anthony recalled: “‘What’s with the red arm?’ ‘Um, it shows some history.’ ‘You mean like the silver shin in the first film, A New Hope?’ ‘Yeah, exactly.’ ‘But that was too subtle to notice.’ ‘Exactly, that’s why it’s red.’”
The star then curtly added: “I did not like the red arm, okay?”

Going on to explain his problem with the arm, Anthony continued: “I thought it was too big, too overt, too clumsy a gesture.
“So every day on the set I would say to J.J., ‘No forgiveness, ever.’ He would laugh.”
“I so persecuted J.J. on the set of The Force Awakens about the red arm. I gave him no order at all. And we finished and that was it.”
Despite the constant attack on JJ, Anthony was surprised by the final scenes in The Force Awakens at the global premiere.

Anthony explained: “And then I go to see the premiere, and I’m looking at this shot. Yeah, there’s the Falcon now, rising through special effects.
“And there is 3PO, waving at the Falcon with a gold arm. J.J. had given me a final gift. [laughs] He changed the colour in post-production.”
The Force Awakens was extremely well-received by critics and fans, and went on to gross an incredible $2 billion at the box office.
Its sequel, The Last Jedi, introduced even more characters, including Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran).
In a recent interview Tran explained how she had to “remind” herself that she “deserved” to be involved in the film.
She explained: “It should not feel so precious that there is something like this that exists in the world.
“There should just be so many. Do you know what I mean? I feel like sometimes when you are in an underrepresented group of people and you get this opportunity, you sort of have to do all of these mental Olympics, and that’s such an unfair pressure to put on yourself. I have to tell myself that every day.”
The Star Wars franchise is available to watch on Disney Plus now.
