Following the full reveal via a lookbook, we now have a look at every item included in the NBA x Louis Vuitton capsule collection, the start of a three-year partnership with the National Basketball Association under the artistic direction of Virgil Abloh.
Part of the luxury fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2021 Pre-Collection, the special range marks the exchange between French craftsmanship and American sports. The limited apparel and accessory collection sees the aesthetic codes of LV mixed with the iconography of basketball while honoring the values of relatability and inclusion key to Virgil Abloh’s design vision.
Centered around the idea of a player’s wardrobe, the apparel found in the NBA x Louis Vuitton capsule features travels and transits, game arrivals, and press conference looks. The Jerry west NBA Logo is utilized throughout, assimilated into existing Louis Vuitton motifs seamlessly.
Utilizing tones of red, blue and white drawn from the official NBA logo, the accompanying leather goods range updates the existing looks of the bags from LV’s malletier roots. Included is the Christopher backpack, Nil messenger and Keepall duffle, along with the debut of a multi-pocket backpack in the classic Monogram with white contrast straps as a nod to the graphics associated with the game. Rounding up the range are footwear options and jewelry done in bright yellow gold or iced out with flashing stones.
For more contemporary fashion, Travis Scott released a Cactus Jack T-Shirt for Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy’s VERZUZ battle.
