Britney Spears is in need of some downtime.

The pop star took to Instagram yesterday to share that she and longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari were headed to Hawaii for a low-key getaway. The trip comes ahead of Spears’s 39th birthday next month and follows a frustrating setback in her drawn-out conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears.

“I’m doing that whole work on yourself thing at the moment ☀️🍍🥦🌹🍊💅🏼 !!! ” wrote Spears alongside her first series of photos, showing her leaning back in the comfort of her private jet, wearing a simple white T-shirt, khaki shorts, and suede sandals. “PS … I wanted to get creative 😜💋🍽 !!!”

Spears then shared a pre-boarding snap featuring her and Asghari cuddled up in front of their plane.

“Felt like a little trip to paradise for an early birthday celebration ✈️🌺☀️🌴💕💋🤸🏼‍♀️🙊🎂🌟 !!!!!!!!! @samasghari,” wrote Spears.

The singer then shared a final post featuring two selfies of her and her guy, revealing that they had indeed headed off to the island of Maui for their vacation.

“We be like …… in Maui 😉😉😉 !!!! PS …. don’t mind my hair 💁🏼‍♀️ !!!! @samasghari,” she wrote.

There’s no doubt that the pop star is in need of some rest and relaxation amid her ongoing high-stakes court battle involving her father. Earlier this month, Spears requested through her lawyer that her father be suspended “immediately” as the head of her decade-plus-long conservatorship, only to be denied by a California judge. Spears has since claimed via her legal reps that she will not perform or work again until her father is no longer in control of her estate.
