There’s been a bizarre and grisly death at one of Hollywood’s most exclusive and star-studded buildings, Page Six has learned.
We hear a prospective buyer was viewing a multimillion-dollar apartment on one of the highest floors of the 31-story Sierra Towers on Monday afternoon — and, when the Realtor’s back was turned, they climbed over the wall of a balcony and jumped to their death.
Sources say that at least one of the many famous residents of the building saw the body on the ground, and the chilling incident has been the main topic of conversation among neighbors in the elevators.
We’re told the sale was being handled by the real estate firm founded by Paris Hilton’s father, Rick Hilton, although Rick wasn’t showing the apartment when the devastating incident occurred.
The building has been home to David Geffen, Cher, Kelly Osbourne, Sidney Poitier, Sandra Bullock, Lindsay Lohan, Elton John and David Furnish, Britney Spears, Joan Collins and Nikki Haskell, among many others.
In fact, The Hollywood Reporter has said of it: “There is no other residential building in Los Angeles that has housed such a diverse and large group of notables.”
Haskell once said of the place, “You have to be in full makeup at all times when you get in the elevator — you never know who you are going to run into.”
At its peak, apartments in the building — which is near the border between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills — went for a staggering $2,000 per square foot.
The LA Sheriff’s Office confirmed it had attended an incident involving a person who had fallen from the tower.
When we asked the building’s management about it, they told us they “couldn’t talk about it” and then hung up on us.
A rep for the Realtor who was showing the pricey pad declined to comment.
