Amanda Lamb,  48, claimed exclusively to Express.co.uk that her co-star on Pointless Celebrities, Martin Roberts, 57, was left feeling angered toward her, as she failed to get answers correct during the quiz. The former Scottish Widows star struggled with questions that were brought up on the topic of geography, and stated that if it weren’t for that she would have been “fine”.

I thought everyone knows

Amanda had been looking forward to appearing on Pointless Celebrities, however, she ran into trouble when the first question was geographical, she said: “Oh god I loved it, but it was really annoying because before I did it, I remember saying to my husband, ‘As long as the questions weren’t sport or geography, I will be fine’.

“The first question was name a place in the UK with six or more letters. Which is easy when you’re not the one on there!

“Funnily enough I was going to say Portsmouth which is where I grew up, but I thought everyone knows Portsmouth, and Richard [Osman, host] said to me at the end, ‘If you had said Portsmouth you would have gone through to the next round’.”

Amanda took part in the programme back in 2018 alongside DIY guru Martin Roberts.

Reflecting on her one regret while appearing on the show, the mother-of-two admitted: “Martin Roberts, he was so cross with me, because he did really well and I was like, ‘I’m so sorry’.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a spokesperson for Martin Roberts asking for comment.

However, the experience has not put Amanda off appearing on the show again if the opportunity arose.

She continued: “I love Pointless. We all watch it religiously in this house. It’s really good.

“You never know I might go on and not get a geography one!” she added.

Amanda also confessed she was “terrible” when appearing on The Chase Celebrity Special last year alongside Dan Snow and Sarah Greene.

The property expert labelled it the “worst thing” she had done in her career.

Amanda shared: “I did The Chase, which is the worst thing I’ve ever done.

“I mean that was absolutely terrible,” she added of the nail-biting quiz show that saw her take on Chaser Paul Sinha for £99,000 in the final chase.

The TV presenter divulged that although she has starred in reality shows before, there’s no chance of her appearing on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! or Strictly Come Dancing.

She explained: “I’d never do the jungle, no that’s not going to happen, it’s too scary.”

On Strictly, she said: “I’m really bad at co-ordination, the left and the right thing is just not happening.

“I would be like Ann Widdecombe. I don’t think it would work for anyone involved so probably not,” the TV host added.

However, she would have no qualms returning to the show that made her a household name: A Place In The Sun.

She divulged: “I’d love to go back, I think my girls are a bit older now, they stopped commissioning A Place in the Sun, when my daughter was three and a half, so for three years there were no episodes.

“When it came back, they did ask me to go back, at the time she was three and a half, nearly four, she was just about to start school. I couldn’t just take off for two years, and not see her. Or drag her around with me, so I couldn’t do it but now they are both a bit older, quite possibly.”
