JEFFREY Epstein told a victim he was trying to CLONE himself in his own lab in Mexico before groping her, it's been claimed.

The disgraced financier allegedly told an art student in 2001 that he had a lab where he was trying to clone humans after being inspired by the Dolly project.

Leland Nally, who called up every phone number in Epstein's "little black book," got talking to a woman who once knew the alleged paedophile.

The woman, who met Epstein while studying art in New York in 2001, met the financier at his townhouse after a friend suggested the meeting.

She told Nally: "He [Epstein] told me he had a place down in Mexico that was already working on cloning humans.

"We had an interesting talk for about two hours, and at the end of the meeting he groped me.

"I started crying and wanted to get out, and I remember being so scared that I wouldn’t get out, because there were so many people working there.

"I really thought I might not get out of there."

When speaking about why she didn't come forward with her allegations sooner, the woman added: "I was always afraid, because I knew he was really powerful.

CLONING MISSION

"And you’re going to think it’s totally crazy, but I bet you he cloned himself, and whoever killed themselves was a clone….I try not to think about it.

"I wouldn’t put it past that he’s out there somewhere.

"He said he had a lab in Mexico, because the Dolly thing got shut down."

The Dolly project was the first successful attempt at mammal cloning – creating Dolly the sheep in 1996 via nuclear transfer.

The new claim about Epstein's cloning antics comes after Nally attempted to piece together information on the alleged paedo.

The "little black book" had phone numbers, emails and addresses of just about everyone who crossed paths with the disgraced financier.

But some people who were in the book had little or no connection to Epstein.

It included hundreds of names, including billionaire Richard Branson, former F1 boss Flavio Briatore, former PM Tony Blair, and rock star Mick Jagger.

The writer searched the corners of the dark web to find a copy of the entire book.

From the list of 1,571 names, he then called every single number.

He published his findings – including the interview with the art student who believes Epstein has cloned himself – in Mother Jones.

Wealthy financier Epstein killed himself in jail on August 10 ahead of a trial for sex trafficking minors.

Ghislaine Maxwell, currently in jail accused of being a pimp for US billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested three months ago.
