PETER Barlow heads towards suffering a relapse next week in Coronation Street after Carla Connor rejects his apologies over Abi Franklin.

Abi – who is played by Sally Carman in the ITV soap – will be forced to admit she made a pass at Peter when Debbie spreads rumours that they are having an affair.

Viewers know that Peter came to the rescue of recovering drug addict Abi when she fell off the wagon and stole some morphine from hospital following a gruesome accident at work. 

But Kevin’s sister Debbie has got the wrong end of the stick and convinced herself there’s something fishy going on between Peter and her brother’s girlfriend.

Abi and Peter will be forced to deny Kevin and Carla’s accusations that they’re cheating in upcoming scenes.

And next week’s episodes of Coronation Street will see Peter devastated when Carla refuses to listen to his excuses and shuts him off.

Later, Abi calls into Underworld to speak up for Peter and insist it was all her doing. 

She also warns Carla that she thinks Peter is heading for a relapse.

Later in the week, Carla and Peter agree that there’s a rift between them and that they need to get better at communicating.

But will they be able to resolve their differences?

Or might Peter be heading on a downward spiral?
