When UK golfer Bella Angel launched her Instagram account two years ago, she never imagined reaching influencer territory.
“I started my golf account as a way of tracking my own golfing progress,” Angel recently told The Post. “I had no intention of it ever expanding into something bigger. It has now, and I’m just sharing my progress on a wider scale, which is fantastic. I think that’s what people really enjoy about my account.”
Joining the ranks of fellow golfers-turned-influencers Paige Spiranac and Isabelle Shee, Angel has over 228,000 followers and counting regularly checking her page, where she posts photos and videos of herself on the golf course.
“I kind of show what I’m working on with my golf swing, and kind of people enjoy seeing tips and tricks that I’m using,” she said.
An amateur golfer, 22-year-old Angel started playing golf when she was “super young,” continuing to do so through school and college at Loughborough University in the UK.
“My whole family plays,” Angel said. “My dad’s a golf professional, so he taught me from a young age. I think I picked up a club probably at age 2. I used to have the mini plastic ones, and I had a cut down wooden one, which I still have, which is quite sweet.
“I live right near a golf course as well.”
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, which shut down golf courses for some time, Angel continued to sharpen her skills at home, all the while keeping fans updated on quarantine happenings via cooking and workout posts.
“I feel like I’ve grown a really amazing community of followers that are very supportive,” she said.
As her social reach continues to expand, Angel also recognizes the larger community of female influencers and golfers sharing their views of the sport.
“I think there are some amazing golf figures out there that are really sharing kind of women’s perspective on golf, and that’s amazing to have more female role models out there for other girls wanting to take up golf,” Angel said.

Angel, who currently follows Spiranac, in addition to golfers Hannah Leiner and the London-based Mollie Lawrence added, “It’s great to see everyone doing so well.”
With several influencers expanding their brands with podcasts and lifestyle lines, Angel is also leaving her door open to future possibilities.
“I think it’s just the beginning where I’m at right now so anything’s possible,” she said.
