It’s been three years since fans saw the end of an era. The Last Jedi will likely be the line between the old and new Star Wars movies. It was officially Carrie Fisher’s last time fighting for the rebels as General Leia Organa. Although she did appear in The Rise of Skywalker, the movie wasn’t even in the works at the time of her death. Any subsequent Star Wars appearances are digital collages.
Mark Hamill is still alive to play Leia’s twin, Luke Skywalker, in future films. But that’s not likely to happen; Luke died in The Last Jedi. Hamill appeared briefly in Rise of Skywalker, but he probably won’t have a starring role in the franchise again. So, director Rian Johnson made sure Hamill had a special experience on the set of his last Star Wars feature.
Mark Hamill’s three kids appeared in ‘The Last Jedi’
Shortly after The Last Jedi came out in theaters, Hamill tweeted a thank you to Johnson for a special favor. Apparently Hamill’s three kids appeared as extras in The Last Jedi, and Johnson made sure the footage was included in the film.
Hamill’s two sons, Nathan Hamill and Griffin Hamill, were rebel fighters on the ground in Crait during the final standoff between Resistance and Empire forces. His daughter, Chelsea, was also a part of the Resistance. Apparently Hamill added a directorial note to make sure she would appear in the film. He told his daughter to “Pop-up FASTER or Oscar’ll block ya!” This refers to Oscar Isaac, one of the film’s stars.
Mark Hamill and his kids are lucky the cameos didn’t get cut

There were some impressive cameos in The Last Jedi, and some of the biggest ones actually ended up getting cut. The royal heirs themselves were not included in the film, so the fact that Hamill’s kids made it in is a big deal.
Prince William and Prince Harry filmed for the movie, but their scene surprisingly did not make it into the final cut. The princes were dressed as Stormtroopers along with actor Tom Hardy. The scene was tense because Hardy’s character recognized Finn from Stormtrooper training. Luckily the wayward rebels aren’t discovered.
Considering it’s one of the most star-studded scenes in the movie, it’s amazing it didn’t appear in the film. Harry and William’s scene was released on a DVD and Blu-ray version of the film. Fans loved the scene.
Harry and William attended the English premiere of the Star Wars movie, and William has joked about his part being cut before. Also, apparently the experience created a bond between Harry and Hardy. The two now greet each other like old friends whenever they meet.
Have the Hamill children been in other ‘Star Wars’ movies?
All three Hamill children appear in The Last Jedi, but it turns out some of them may have had hands in other Star Wars movies as well. Chelsea is credited on IMBd for the three Disney episodes, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and Rise of Skywalker. She’s listed as her father’s assistant for all three on her IMDb page. She also apparently had a cameo in The Big Bang Theory in 2018.
His son Griffin only has The Last Jedi on his IMDb page, but Nathan actually has another Star Wars credit like his sister Chelsea. According to Nathan’s IMDb, he was also an extra on the set of The Phantom Menace in 1999. He’s listed as a “Pod Race Spectator/Naboo Palace Guard,” but IMDb isn’t always accurate. Other sources appear to support the information, but it’s surprising that Nathan appeared in The Phantom Menace when his father wasn’t even in the movie.
