Elton John has reacted to a brilliant, “#lockdown” cover of the singer’s 2000 song, “I’m Still Standing” performed by a group of school students, going so far as to say that he was completely “blown away” by the performance.

Ben Millington, the music instructor of Telford Priory School in England, served as the coordinator of his students, who each performed separate sections of the song, while he contributed backing melodies on the piano, guitar, drums, and other instruments.

The video was filmed using a video-calling software in early March, though it only came to the attention of the singer himself quite recently.

“The students in Mr. Millington’s music class at @telfordpriory did a brilliant version of my song, #ImStillStanding,” the 73-year-old Grammy Award-winning artist tweeted, along with a link to the video.
“Ben, you did a fantastic job and I look forward to having you all as guests at my show.”

He also recorded a special video message to the class, giving his best to the students and their teacher, and even revealing that he “watched it three times in a row because I couldn’t believe how good you sang and played it.”
