Dashboard Confessional frontman Chris Carrabba is recovering after getting into a serious motorcycle accident.
“My injuries were severe but not life threatening. I owe the amazing doctors, nurses and medical team treating me my endless gratitude,” Carrabba, 45, wrote in a note posted to social media. “I am determined to make a full recovery, but I have surgeries and months of rehab to come.”
The “Vindicated” crooner, whose accident occurred on June 6, then turned his message into one of support for the Black Lives Matter movement so that fans would know he wasn’t staying silent.
“I have not lost sight of the social issues at hand and even in the condition I’m in I find it important to state that I stand with black lives matter,” he continued. “In the near future it is likely I will not be able to follow the news as much as I normally would. If you don’t hear from me on critical social issue [sic] I trust that you will know where I stand.”
Rock band Mayday Parade replied with their well wishes, tweeting, “Sending you love and a swift recovery [red heart emoji].”
Dashboard Confessional was set to resume its tour in September.
Page Six has reached out to the band’s management for comment regarding the forthcoming dates.
