As Coronation Street resumes filming, one of the soap's biggest stars, Samia Longchambon, has been pictured out on a walk with her family.

The 37 year old actress, who plays Maria Connor on the ITV soap, looked in high spirits as she strolled with her husband Sylvain and their four year old son, Yves.

Samia beamed as she looked stylishly casual in a white New Balance hoodie, black workout leggings and black Nike trainers.

The brunette beauty, who recently celebrated 20 years on Corrie, accessorised with large black sunglasses with a gold rim, while her hair fell down around her shoulders in waves.

Former Dancing on Ice professional Sylvain showed off his muscular frame in a tight grey T-shirt, paired with tracksuit bottoms.

He walked the family’s cute dog, while little Yves clutched onto his mum’s hand. Samia’s daughter Freya, 10, from her previous marriage, did not join her family on the stroll.

It comes after the popular TV star recently revealed that lockdown has helped ease her anxiety.

Samia said she was “fine with the thought of staying home” and the time in lockdown has actually helped her anxiety, which she has “struggled with for a long time”.

When asked by The Sun Online about how she is coping with the government’s plea to stay home, she said: “Actually, this period has been OK for me.

“I’ve always preferred a night in to a night out. It takes a lot to get me out to a party, so I was fine with the thought of staying at home.

“But the biggest impact has been on my anxiety, which I have really, really struggled with for a long time.”

She continued: “I’ve found it’s finally eased while being on lockdown. I’ve had social anxiety most of my life which has been very challenging.

"But I’ve found that now everyone has had to slow down and I don’t have that pressure to attend social events. The bustle of life has lifted.

“I’ve been trying things for years to help and some of it has been good. I do yoga every day and I did a webinar about anxiety yesterday with a clinical psychologist, but this period has really helped me.”

The actress continued to say: “I hope that by talking about it I might be able to assure other people that it’s normal too, and that it’s something you can deal with.

“Although, I’m now going to the supermarket in a mask and gloves so that’s a different sort of anxiety.”
