Gogglebox has apologised to Eamonn Holmes after he was left “hurt beyond belief” over the editing on the celebrity spin-off of the show.
The This Morning star slammed the show after he appeared with his wife Ruth Langsford on Friday’s episode, but an emotional scene in which he discussed the tragic death of his father was cut.
In a statement issued by a spokesperson for Gogglebox, they confirmed that the show will be re-edited before it appears on their catch-up service All 4.

“We have apologised to Eamonn over what happened in this week’s episode. We understand and respect Eamonn’s feelings on such a deeply personal story,” they said.
“We have taken the decision to edit the episode for future repeats and All 4. We look forward to working with Eamonn and Ruth for the rest of the series.”
Eamonn had revealed he was “hurt beyond belief” as he was criticised on social media for speaking about how he drove wife Ruth, 60, to the hospital during her labour with son Jack.
Eamonn’s comments appeared to come after the couple had watched an emotional scene of 10 year old son resuscitating his dad on BBC’s Ambulance.
The scene showed This Morning stars Eamonn clearly affected and Ruth in tears, along with a number of celebrities who took part in the show from their home.
In a series of tweets, Eamonn explained: “In reply to a number of complaints …. I am hurt beyond belief that @C4Gogglebox chose not to use me talking about my Father dying from a Heart Attack at the side of a road and replace it with a funny story following a young lad giving his Father CPR . Idiotic and cruel edit."

He added: “So following a tragedy that has forever haunted my family, I am in no mood for criticising holier than thou mouthpieces on here who haven't gone through what we did. I had nothing but praise and emotion for the Ambulance control room TV programme. An atrocious edit @StudioLambert”.
In another heartbreaking tweet, Eamonn explained how his father’s death, which he said was “as close as could be” to the scene of the boy resuscitating his father, had affected his family.
He said: “How my Father died was a particularly horrible experience for my Mother , my younger brother and his friend who were all in the car . [sic]

The resuscitation in The BBC Ambulance programme was as close as could be to my Dad's passing.Yet I am the one edited to make it look like a laugh”.
After a series of sympathetic tweets to Eamonn over the “cruel” editing, he thanked his fans for their support after the “awful” experience.
He wrote: “Thank you everyone for seeing what happened tonight. Just awful that it did and that I have had to explain. Anyone who works in The Ambulance Service or who has experienced the impact of Sudden Death will understand. I now need to put my phone down. Goodnight”.
