Kate Garraway will give her first interview on Good Morning Britain tomorrow following her husband’s battle with coronavirus. 

The GMB host’s husband, Derek Draper, has been in intensive care since contracting the virus, with Kate giving weekly updates alongside the Clap For Carers commemoration every Thursday. 

In the first week since the clap stopped, and with Derek’s condition currently unknown, Kate will open up about her and her family’s battle to get him back to better health. 

Making the announcement on Twitter, Good Morning Britain wrote: ‘Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper has been fighting for his life against coronavirus.

‘Tomorrow, from 7am, she joins Ben [Shephard] and Ranvir [Singh], to speak about how her family has been coping over the past nine weeks.’ 

In order to support Kate, fans have been flooding her Twitter with positive messages of recovering patients who have battled covid-19, hoping to keep Kate and her childrens’ spirits up during this difficult time. 

Derek has been fighting hard to beat the virus in intensive care for the past nine weeks, with Kate facetiming him and messaging him in the hopes that he can hear her. 

The couple have two children, daughter Darcey, 14, and son Billy, 10, who have also been seen at the annual Clap for Carers in honour of their dad. 

Derek has been in hospital since 1 April after contracting the coronavirus, and has remained in intensive care ever since. 

She has been supported by the entire Good Morning Britain team, with Ben giving personal updates every week since his hospitalization. 

Kate has taken time off from the programme since her husband fell ill, in order to look after her family during this difficult time. 

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
