CORONATION Street will air a special episode tonight as Yasmeen tries to KILL Geoff with a wine bottle after months of abuse.

Fans of the ITV soap have been left heartbroken by the coercive control storyline, with evil Geoff tormenting his wife as he isolates her from loved ones.

It will all come to a head this evening, with a special episode focusing entirely on Yasmeen and Geoff's relationship.

Set in just a few locations, viewers will follow the Metcalfes' lives over one day – with time lapses also being used instead of the usual straight cuts to other scenes.

After learning that Yasmeen is secretly planning to leave him, Geoff will continue to terrorise her – forcing her to wear a sexy dress as they attend the reopening of the Bistro.

He later reveals that the red dress had actually been bought for one of his escorts, with Yasmeen previously being left devastated to learn that her husband had been sleeping with prostitutes behind her back.

A fight will develop between the two, and in self defence Yasmeen will grab a wine bottle and lash out – with Geoff falling to the ground.

Opening up about the disturbing storyline's upcoming climax, actress Shelley King – who plays Yasmeen – previously shared: "Viewers will see that she has had nothing to eat for days.

"He has got rid of everything in the cupboards and keeps putting the same plate of food in front of her. She is on medication, she feels ill, she can't leave her house.

"She is in a state of confusion, hunger and self doubt. How can she go to anyone?"

Shelley continued: "When they come home, Geoff pushes her inside the house and slams the door. She is inside the house without any food.

"He then goes out for a couple of hours having drinks and he is watching everything she is doing. She doesn't know she is being watched.

"She begs with him not to go, but he leaves her there and when he comes home she is on the sofa exhausted in the dress. She can smell fish and chips and he has a bottle of wine on the table, but he doesn't offer her anything. She does not attack him, all she wants is to eat something and hug him, she wants him to forgive her.

"She is not thinking coherently, she hasn't eaten for two and a half days properly. What she does is react like a wounded cornered animal. She just wants it all to stop. She defends herself – she doesn't attack him but it is him who ends up bleeding on the kitchen floor."

Coronation Street fans have been deeply affected by the storyline, with TV regulator Ofcom receiving complaints from horrified viewers following some of the more shocking scenes – including Geoff raping Yasmeen last week.
