Lucy-Jo Hudson and her partner Lewis Devine welcomed their adorable baby son Carter into the world in February, have now introduced him in a gorgeous shoot and interview with OK!
The couple – who have been together since 2018 after meeting in panto – insist it was love at first sight when they laid eyes on their baby. “It’s true what they say, it’s instant. I’ve never felt love like,” Lewis said.
Lucy-Jo, 36, who is already mum to six-year-old daughter Sienna with her former husband Alan Halsall, opened up on the gorgeous name of their newborn, and the adorable meaning behind it, too.
The former Coronation Street star explained: “When I was pregnant, we had the name Jesse in mind. But every time we told people, we could just see their reaction and we were like, “Oh, no one likes this!”
After steering away from Jesse, Lucy-Jo and Lewis settled on the name Carter.

The 36 year old continued: “Lewis’s mum suggested Carter for his middle name, Jesse Carter Devine, but the more I said “Carter” the more I preferred it to Jesse and then it just stuck! Ray is his middle name.
“Because Sienna has her dad’s surname, Halsall, and Carter has Lew’s surname, Lew thought it would be nice for them to share a name.
“As her full name is Sienna-Rae, he thought if we gave Carter the middle name Ray it would connect them a bit more. It was such a lovely idea – Sienna was beaming when she found out.”

Nameberry.com reports that the name Carter, which is of English origin, has “been popular for almost two decades, but it only cracked the Top 30 in 2014.”
Discussing the pandemic and taking care of a newborn during it, Lucy-Jo said: “Lew and I have been indoors anyway for the past month because I’ve just had Carter.

“The night feeds take it out of you so it’s easier at the beginning to be at home so you can prep all the bottles, catch up on sleep and get a routine going! We’re very lucky we have a lovely home and a garden for Sienna to play in.”
Lewis added: “We’ll be having lots of barbecues in the garden, just the four of us!”
And Lucy-Jo added: "I’m grateful I gave birth before this whole thing became as serious as it has. I have pregnant friends who are due in the summer and it’s the not knowing what’s going to happen that’s worrying."
