EASTENDERS fans have been left furious after Ian Beale tried to "blackmail" Karen Taylor into leaving Walford with baby Kayden.

Sharon gave birth to baby Kayden – who is Karen's grandson – last month, but has been left devastated by the death of her older son Denny.

Unable to cope with being a new mum, she shocked Karen when she handed over the newborn saying that she didn't want to raise him herself last week.

However, she struggled when she stepped outside and saw the pair in the street, telling Ian that she "only has one son" as far as she is concerned.

Ian then stormed over to the Taylor household, stunning Karen when he showed her a wad of cash and said he'd provide for the baby – even suggesting setting up a direct debit.

However, when Karen reached to take the money Ian whipped his hand away and said that he would only give the financial support if she takes Kayden and leaves.

He then threatened involving social services if Karen refused to comply – saying that Kayden will end up in care.

Ian has been left guild-ridden after being responsible for Denny's death on the River Thames boat party – which Sharon is currently unaware of.

And viewers at home were left outraged by his behaviour – taking to Twitter to claim that he is only doing it to protect himself.

One wrote: "Ian’s so shady…. Money and getting rid of Kayden ain’t gonna get him out of this one! When Queen Sharon finds out there will be hell to pay."

Another fumed: "I can not believe Ian is trying to get Karen to move from the square, he’s got a nerve."

A third reasoned: "Ian can't expect Karen to up and leave, she has family and her job there so why doesn't he just pay for Sharon to leave and go see Michelle or someone after Denny's funeral?"

Ian had been left fuming when he learned that Denny had been responsible for the trolling of his son Bobby, with Bobby being rushed to hospital following an Islamophobic attack.

The Walford businessman followed the teen bully to the boat party and locked him in a room below deck after realising that he was drunk.

While Ian did go back and try to save Denny's life as the boat began to sink, he was unable to get him out in time and the character was killed off just as his mother gave birth to her new baby.
