PIERS Morgan has confirmed that he will appear on Good Morning Britain on Monday – despite pushing for social distancing.

The 54-year-old star has been incredibly vocal about his concerns for the coronavirus outbreak, calling on more dramatic measures to be put in place in a bid to prevent it from spreading.

However, the TV presenter is not self-isolating as he insisted that the public depended on his ITV breakfast show for accurate updates.

On a Twitter tirade, Piers wrote: "Many people on here still seem to have no grasp of how serious this is and how bad it is going to get, very soon.

"Mock, abuse, sneer all you like – but you won't in 2-3 weeks when all hell breaks loose.

"This is not 'scare-mongering', it's a fact. Britain needs to wake up, fast."

Offering advice on how to combat the spreading virus, Piers added: "Two words: social distancing. Of the kind most countries in the world are doing, except us."

One follower replied: "So you won't be at work on Monday??"

To which the defiant star responded: "I will, yes.

"The public must have constant up-to-date news and advice re: coronavirus from shows like @GMB".

Piers previously declared that the world was "at war" with the deadly illness – and repeatedly slammed Prime Minister Boris Johnson for his handling of the pandemic.

Earlier today it was confirmed that the amount of Brits who have died from coronavirus has doubled overnight, leaping from 10 to 21 victims.
