Jeurys Familia is working on a new grip for his splitter this spring.
The effects have been positive, according to Rojas.
“He’s really happy with how his split has been working,” Rojas said. “The depth of it has been the most that he’s had in his career with his split, and it plays really well off his fastball.”
Familia gave up a run in an inning on Saturday.
“I’m very impressed with his stuff,” Rojas said. “He’s got weapons. It’s been a good spring for him so far.”
Robinson Cano had an opposite-field double and made a diving play to his left at second base. He also drove in a run and had a pair of hits.
Wilson Ramos went 0-for-3 and has only one hit in his past 15 at-bats.
Walker Lockett will make the start against the Marlins in Jupiter, Fla. at 1:10 p.m., while Marcus Stroman is set to appear in a simulated game in Port St. Lucie.
