Emmerdale fans discovered that Jamie Tate (played by Alexander Lincoln) is hiding a secret earlier this week and were quick to speculate what it might be.
Jamie’s current romantic interest, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) persuaded Jamie to pay a visit to his mother Kim Tate (Claire King) after trying to avoid her.
Belle convinced Jamie to give her a chance but when he turned up at Home Farm it wasn’t long before he changed his mind and decided to leave.
As he was leaving, he rejected a call from an unknown number and viewers caught a glipse at his phone to discover he had 12 missed calls.
When the missed calls were revealed, some viewers took to Twitter to comment on Jamie’s suspicious behaviour.
One wrote: “12 missed calls.. hmm interesting Jamie… interesting… #Emmerdale,” and another said: “#Emmerdale hmmm who’s calling Jamie?”
Some viewers began to speculate that the newbie might be in secret contact with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
“Did anyone else notice Jamie having missed calls from an unknown number? It’s Joe Tate!!! He’s coming home!” commented one.
Another added: “I also wonder if it’s Joe who’s calling Jamie and maybe they’re working together in some way to bring down Kim because no one might think they would be working together. However now that Jamie is in Emmerdale maybe his agenda has changed.”
“#Emmerdale is Jamie really in cahoots with Joe,” remarked a third and another tweeted: “I bet you that’s joe ringing Jamie #emmerdale.”
Will Joe Tate make a dramatic return to the ITV soap with Jamie’s help or is Jamie hiding something else?
In an interview with Digital Spy, Alexander opened up what viewers can expect from the newcomer.
He said: “Jamie is very easily manipulated by [Kim], so he is brought back into the fold even though he doesn’t want to be.
“She is his mum – and even when you’re estranged from someone, you still want to have that relationship.”
Meanwhile, could Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) kill her own father, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews)?
Earlier this week, Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) finally discovered Dawn’s betrayal.
Will has been out to get revenge on Harriet as she was responsible for him going to jail and although Dawn originally helped her father, she began to have a change of heart.
The ex-con attempted to squash Harriet with a coffin but luckily to was able to escape.
However when he revealed the role Dawn played in his revenge plan, the village vicar turned her back on Dawn.
Will she now kill Will in an attempt to win back Harriet’s trust?
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
