  • PERKY PEPE, GUEN DOZY

Nicolas Pepe's emergence for Arsenal contrasts with Matteo Guendouzi's downfall.

While £72million Ivory Coast winger Pepe bagged a goal and two assists in the 4-0 rout of Newcastle, midfielder Guendouzi was omitted after reportedly clashing with boss Mikel Arteta.

The Telegraph say Guendouzi's reported bust-up in training was even followed by a flare-up at the hotel

And Arteta said of his team selection: “The reason is that players who, in my opinion, are training better, behaving better and are more applied to deliver on the pitch what we want, are the players that are selected.”

  • INVINCIBLES WOULD WIN

Hero from Arsenal's Invincible season has said that the team he played in would beat Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool squad.

According to Jens Lehhman, former Gunners goalkeeper: Arsenal's Invincibles, who did not lose a game throughout the whole of the 2003/04 season, would beat the current Liverpool side in a match.

With 26 wins and 12 draws in 38 games, Arsenal amassed 90 points over the course of the season, a feat which Liverpool have completed last season and are well on course to do again this time round.

They could not become Invincibles or win the league last season thanks to Manchester City beating them 2-1 in January 2019, the only team to pull this off during the whole of the 2018/19 campaign.

This statement comes after comparisons have been drawn from Arsenal's Invincible season to this season's Liverpool.

If Liverpool can go all season without losing, they will have gone 55 games without a loss, breaking Arsenal's record by six games. Lehhman has stated that it is entirely possible for Liverpool to have an unbeaten season, when speaking to The Mirror, he said: ''All the ingredients are there for Liverpool to become the Invincible champions''.

  • ROBBIE EXITS WITH HEAVY HEART

Arsenal under-23s' skipper Robbie Burton has sent out an anguished goodbye message after his shock move to Dinamo Zagreb.

The midfielder, 20, who made the bench in the Carabao Cup this term, tweeted the “hard” decision was “right” for his career.
