Jennifer Lopez is obviously a big believer in the phrase "the show must go on" as she made sure she reminded fans of the extremely important message she shared during her Superbowl stunning halftime performance.

And as well as putting on a wholly entertaining show for the NFL's showpiece in Miami, Florida, on Sunday alongside fellow Latino singer Shakira, J-Lo used the moment to hit out at president Donald Trump's family separation policy which has seen immigrant children being detained in cages at the US-Mexico border.

The performance featured a segment that saw a group of young girls, including her daughter Emme, trapped inside what appeared to be individual illuminated white cages.

She also draped herself in a Puerto Rican flag as she sung a rendition of Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA alongside her 11-year-old daughter Emme, to signify that Puerto Rico, her place of heritage, is part of the US.

And after the show she made sure to hammer home the important message by posting a video showing the moments before she took to the stage at the Super Bowl.

In the clip shared with her 112 million followers on Instagram , Jennifer leads a group prayer with her team before taking to the stage at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Accompanying the video, the 50-year-old Hollywood veteran wrote:"All I want my girls, the little girls on stage with me and all over the world to know is how to use their voices and be proud of everything they are."

She continued: "Other people can try to build walls, keep us out or put us in cages. We are proud to recognise that all of us together are what makes this beautiful country truly great."

The video also captures her receiving final grooming to her makeup and then sharing a personal moment with Emme who was visibly excited to be there and later joined her mother on stage to sing Jennifer's dance hit Let's get Loud.

The video concludes with Jen jumping on a pole which brought her up to the stage, obviously a reference to her celebrated role in stripper drama Hustlers.

Jennifer and Shakira's turn at the halftime show has garnered rave reviews and was heavy on Latin pride.

Emme's dad and Jennifer's ex-husband Marc Anthony was obviously proud of his daughter's performance, and following the show posted the sweetest message about her on Instagram .

The happy dad was overwhelmed with pride as he watched Emme take to the stage for the half time Super Bowl show gig with her mum and his ex-wife.

Emme walked in the star-studded footsteps of her super star singer mother when she joined her on stage during the Super Bowl.

Marc threw all his support behind his daughter as he took to Instagram to post a picture of her performance at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.

He wrote: "Emme Daddy is so proud of you. You are my ❤ and I am forever yours."

Emme is a twin to her brother Maximilian.
