Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke have captured the hearts of the nation during their time on Strictly.

EastEnders' star Emma and her pro dance partner couldn't hide their joy when they discovered they had made it through to the final of the hit BBC show.

Anton burst into tears and praised his "beautiful" partner, Emma.

He told host Claudia Winkleman: "This is somebody who had no confidence in her dancing ability, didn't think she could dance a step, to make it into the semi-finals as well.

"And to produce a dance – I'm getting emotional – to produce a dance like that that I've been wanting to do for about 15 years on Strictly Come Dancing, is the most beautiful thing.

"And you're the most incredible person."

Both judges and fans have been quick to praise the adorable pair as they improve week on week with their stunning routines.

And former winner, Jill Halfpenny, has now lifted the lid on how the pair have such amazing chemistry on the dance floor.

She told It Takes Two: "They have just got that chemistry together, I think you really feel that they really love each other.

"There is something really special about that when you watch them."

Jill, who was also starring in EastEnders when she won the Glitterball, admitted the pair might not have the technical prowess of some of the other couples but stressed they were "magical".

Despite having the eyes of the nation on her for the Strictly final tonight, one thing Emma has always remained tight-lipped about her love life.

Emma was in a relationship with presenter Stephen Mulherne from 2008 until 2011.

The couple met while they were both performing in a panto and stayed together for three years.

Both have remained quiet about why their romance broke down with Stephen only admitting it had come to its "natural end".

Before she met Stephen, Emma had a relationship with her hunky EastEnders co-star, Joel Beckett.

But love with the actor, who played Jake Moon, didn't last.

And fellow co-star, Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay Brown in EastEnders, admitted he had a massive crush on Emma.

However, she shut down any rumours of a possible romance by insisting he was "more like a brother".

Emma was going through a painful divorce just as she joined the EastEnders' cast.

The 42-year-old married lawyer Nigel Stoat in 2002 but their relationship broke down three years later.
