UFC legend Randy Couture shocked fans after suffering from a heart attack this week.
The retired MMA star was rushed into a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday after falling ill during a workout.
He has been released from hospital and remains in good spirits, despite the health scare.
As he left the medical facility, Couture told reporters: “Good, feeling way better obviously. Just got released.
“Obviously on some level, you think you’re invincible then you find out you’re not."
He explained the health complications that caused his heart attack: “It’s not a life issue, I have naturally really thick blood. My haemoglobin levels were really high for some reason.
“They’ve always been really high but for some reason, they were abnormally high.
“I was working out and got dehydrated which thickens your blood too.
“I had a plaque rupture which is like getting a cut, the blood goes there to heal up the rupture.
"Because my blood is so thick it created a clot and blocked my arteries.
“Couldn’t figure out what the hell was wrong, and I was like ‘damn,’ I thought I’d popped a rib or something.
“It just wouldn’t go away, so I knew something wasn’t right."
The three-time world champion still has a catheter hooked up to his artery and won’t be able to train in the gym straight away.
However, this won't stop the former champ from getting back to work.
Couture is acting in a new movie called The Outlaw Johnny Black.
The film is being shot this month, and the fighter plans on returning to set on Tuesday. He said: “Back on set, Tuesday to continue working on that. [The doctors say] Acting is ok.
"Really got to get the blood issue dialled in, so I’m working with a blood doctor now and going to have to do regular blood draws to keep my levels down in the normal range.
"But I’ve known for fifteen years that my blood is just naturally really thick and high.”
He has also starred in films such as The Expendables trilogy and The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior.
Before making moves in the acting world, Couture was an accomplished fighter.
The heavyweight has competed in 16 title fights.
He has defeated legendary opponents including Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell and Vitor Belfort.
"The Natural" finished his last bout at UFC 129 at the age of 47, becoming the only fighter over the age of 40 to win a UFC bout.
Later on in his career, he worked for rival MMA company, Bellator, as a coach.
The MMA community rallied around the UFC Hall of Famer.
Chuck Lidell, Tito Ortiz, Conor McGregor and many others offered Couture words of support. He said he was overwhelmed by the reaction: "It was amazing, overwhelming.
"My phone has just been blowing up since it hit yesterday.
“All my friends, my family, my mom and my sisters and everybody, it was pretty incredible."
With the go-ahead from doctors, the UFC legend is on his way to a speedy recovery and getting back to business.
