Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli are feeling the heat after being hit with additional bribery charges for their alleged role in the nationwide college admissions scandal, a report said Wednesday.

“This stress is about to break them,” a source close to the couple told People.

“They feel like this is David versus Goliath. How do you go up against the federal government, when the government has decided to make an example out of you?” the source continued. “How can you possibly move forward from this?”

The charge that the celebrity pair was hit with Tuesday — conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery — is tied to the original case against them: that they allegedly shelled out $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters into the University of Southern California.

Since the new charge, the “Fuller House” star is “angry, she is sad, but most of all, she is terrified.”

“It just gets worse and worse for her …,” the source said. “She feels like she is a scapegoat.”

Loughlin, 55, and Giannulli, 56, were already facing charges of wire fraud and money laundering.

The new rap appears to indicate prosecutors’ attempts to heap on stiffer penalties for defendants who continue to fight the charges instead of copping to plea deals, as several others already have.

The likelihood of increased prison time has escalated tensions between the couple, the source said.

“The entire family is in chaos right now,” the source said.

“Lori is ready for this to be over,” the source added. “They all are. At this point it would be better to spend a few months in jail — because she’s been spending the last several months in her own prison.”
