The Premier League returns this weekend after the international break, but not everybody will be taking part.
As we gear up for the weekend’s action, there’s a plethora of injuries to some of fantasy football’s most popular players, including two of Dream Team best loved goalkeepers…

Definitely out
David De Gea
Man United head into Sunday’s daunting clash against Liverpool with a staggering 11 players potentially out through injury.
The latest – and perhaps most concerning – is the loss of De Gea, who limped out of Spain’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Sweden and will almost definitely miss the big one at Old Trafford.
Luckily, United still have Sergio Romero to fill in between sticks.
Paul Pogba
Pogba was supposed to be fit and ready for this one, but it looks as though the midfielder will also miss out – having failed to recover from the foot injury he picked up against Arsenal a few weeks back.
Unlike their goalkeeper, United have very few adequate replacements for Pogba, and this will certainly worry Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
Hugo Lloris
It turns out Lloris’ sickening arm injury wasn’t quite as bad as it looked (and it looked pretty horrendous, to me).
The Spurs keeper will be out of action for a quite a long time though, but it could return before the year is through.

Doubts
Mohamed Salah & Joel Matip
Many consider Liverpool’s trip to Manchester a foregone conclusion, but they could be heading to Old Trafford without two first-team favourites.
Salah injured his ankle in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Leicester in the last game before the international break and faces a late fitness test, while Matip has been out since last month’s 1-0 win at Sheffield United.
Anthony Martial & Luke Shaw
Martial’s United career began with a goal against Liverpool at Old Trafford, but he’s a major doubt to even take part in their clash this weekend having yet to prove his fitness after being out of action since August.
Shaw was expected to be fit, but the left-back appears to have lost his battle in time for Sunday.
Christian Eriksen
Eriksen suffered a dead leg in Denmark’s 4-0 win over Luxembourg in their Euro 2020 qualifier on Tuesday, and will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s crunch against Watford.
Perhaps not the most serious-sounding injury on our list, but it’s enough to make him a doubt.
Ashley Barnes & Erik Pieters
Burnley players have surprisingly been good value for Dream Team this season, with both Barnes and Eriksen two of the best bargain options in their respective positions.
Unfortunately, Barnes is said to be touch and go for the game this weekend, but Pieters is expected to be fit after recovering from an ankle injury.
Suspended
Seamus Coleman
Two red cards in as many games is sort of impressive, right?
Coleman was sent off in Everton’s last game before the international break in their 1-0 defeat to Burnley, and will be suspended for the game against West Ham this weekend as a result.
To make matters worse, he was shown red for the Republic of Ireland in their defeat to Switzerland earlier in the week.
Possible returns
James Maddison
We were all a little disappointed to see Madders miss out on his first England cap due to illness, but Leicester have confirmed the midfielder is fit and ready for action this weekend.
Alisson
Perhaps the biggest news of the clash at Old Trafford on Sunday is the news that Reds keeper Alisson is set to return, having missed all of Liverpool’s games since his opening day injury against Norwich.
Kevin De Bruyne & John Stones
The international break was kind to Man City, with no fresh injury concerns coupled with the returns of De Bruyne and Stones.
It’s not such good news for physio favourite Benjamin Mendy though, who’s still not quite ready for the game against Crystal Palace.
Alexandre Lacazette
Laca’s been out of action since September, but Arsenal boss Unai Emery has confirmed the French striker has returned to full training and is now in contention to feature against Sheffield United on Monday.
