Moment gang armed with knuckledusters try to smash their way into Aldi with a fire extinguisher and metal poles as staff fight them off with belts

  • A gang of youths attacked the entrance of an Aldi in South Ruilslip last night
  • The shocking footage shows armed youths beating door with a fire extinguisher
  • One eyewitness said she was surprised no-one was killed in aggressive attack
  • Staff and customers inside the store called the police and some employees took off their belts to whip at the intruders through cracks in the sliding doors

Last night a gang of armed youths tried to smash their way through the closed glass doors of a supermarket while customers inside huddled with security staff.

Video of the incident, recorded on a smartphone and posted online, shows at least three teenagers slamming their fists against the closed doors and one repeatedly hurling a large metal fire extinguisher against the glass.

One of the youths tries to squeeze his way between the closed doors, one of which starts to hang at an angle.

A man can be heard speaking to a member of staff, who appears to be security, saying over and over ‘Do you get paid enough for that?’ as one of the gang tries to force open the door.

Another clip shows Aldi staff members trying to defend the entrance by using their belts to whip the gang members.

One of the little thugs was able to burst through the door at one point, but only started trying to cause visible damage to the security scanners by the entrance once his friends started to drag him backwards.

Witness Emma Downing told MyLondon: ‘I had the misfortune of witnessing the staff get brutally attacked by a large group of young teenage youths, boys and girls, who behaved like a pack of animals.

‘They had poles and knuckle dusters for weapons. I went to my car for safety and to call the police, I made them aware of the situation

‘I’m surprised no one was killed.’

An eyewitness posted their recollection of the event on a local media outlet’s Facebook page saying: ‘Three employees had their faces smashed and blood was on the floor.

‘Crutches were used as a weapon, a fire extinguisher and anything they could get their hands on.’

The youth tried to prise the doors open as staff and customers huddled inside

The door on the left can be seen starting to shatter under the repeated blows from the heavy metal fir extinguisher
