One of the many joys of the Jonas Brothers finally being reunited is that we get to witness their social media genius again after all these years. It’s been way too long since the internet has been blessed with their skits and antics, and now, Diplo is getting in on the fun. This week, the DJ and guy who ruined Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s wedding hacked their Instagram account to drop his own thirst traps, post pictures of Jonas Brothers lower-back tattoos, and troll Nick Jonas for breaking up the band.
It all started approximately 22 hours ago when Diplo got ahold of the JoBros’ IG password and posted his Calvin Klein ad that moonlights as a solid thirst trap and way to plug his actual Insta account.
Then things got dark and weird. After the CK ad, Diplo posted a picture of a “Jonas Brothers” lower-back tattoo and joked, “Honestly can’t tell if this is the front of Joe or the back of Nick.” Then he turned into a savage, posted a photo of Hanson (the “MMMBop” icons), and captioned it, “Never forget the original Jonas brothers.”
And after all that, Diplo kept going, posting another shirtless pic of himself, a video joking about how Nick caused the band to split, and a video roasting their old looks before he teased a mystery project that’s supposed to drop Friday at midnight.
Like, this is what the Jonas Brothers’ feed looks like right now:
It’s a far cry from the typical tour photos and promo shots they usually post, and Nick, Joe, and Kevin were not pleased. When they finally decided enough was enough, they took to their personal Insta accounts to say, “It was funny for, like, one post but we’ve got a show tonight and need the account back.”
Some are guessing this is all just a publicity stunt and that Diplo and the Jonases just want some attention. All I know is, this resulted in some quality content and roasts. For that, we must thank them.
