NORWICH'S bargain boys pulled off one of the shocks of the season to stun the Premier League champions on Saturday evening.

While Pep Guardiola has been buying his players from Harrods, Daniel Farke has been shopping at Primark to build together a side capable of challenging the very best.

Norwich, huge outsiders before kick-off, won the contest 3-2 thanks to another goal from hotshot Teemu Pukki.

The Finland superstar has now scored six league goals in his opening five matches.

Not bad for a player who arrived on a free transfer from Brondby last year.

Comparing the costs of each starting XI and the fact City hadn't tasted defeat in nine months, it only highlights Norwich's mammoth achievement.

Norwich's team cost a measly £6.45million to assemble, with the most expensive players costing just £1.5m.

Two players in keeper Tim Krul and Pukki were signed on free transfers while Todd Cantwell and Jamal Lewis came through the academy.

Defender Ibrahim Amadou is on a season-long loan while Sam Byram and Kenny McLean cost Farke less than £1m for the pair.

Compare that to free spending Manchester City whose starting XI was worth a whopping £406.1m.

Oleksandr Zinchenko remains the cheapest at just £3.4m while summer signing Rodri was purchased for £62.5m.

After the contest Guardiola was full of praise for last season's Championship side.

He said: "Congrats to Norwich.

“The first goal was from a set-piece and the second on the counter so credit to them. It is what it is. We have to learn from this and carry on.

“Our passing was not bad. We created chances but we could not score them today.

“They are a really good team with good players with quality, we saw that in the Championship last year, they were clinical today."
