Teddi Mellencamp’s family is growing. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star announced on Wednesday that she is pregnant with baby No. 3.
Mellencamp has two other children — a daughter named Slate, 7, and a son named Cruz, 5 — with her husband Edwin Arroyae. Arroyaye also has a 10-year-old daughter named Isabella from a previous relationship. Us Weekly was the first to report the news.
Teddi Mellencamp says this baby was a ‘complete surprise’
Mellencamp, who is currently 14 weeks pregnant, said she and her husband of eight years weren’t expecting to have another child. The couple used IVF for their first two kids, and they’d decided they didn’t want to go through that grueling process again.
“My husband said, ‘I don’t want to see you going through IVF again — that was brutal,’” Mellencamp told Us. “It was so many rounds, but this time we really weren’t doing anything! I was on vacation! Just having fun with my family! It was a complete surprise. I didn’t even know I was because I didn’t have a regular cycle.”
Both parents and their kids are thrilled about the upcoming addition to the family.
“They are so excited,” the 38-year-old accountability coach told the magazine. “They’ve been talking about it for a long time and actually it’s been my son who’s been like, ‘Mom, we need to have another baby,’ and I never wanted to get his hopes up. So when we told him, he was through the roof. So excited.”
Congratulations from other Bravolebrities rolled in
When Mellencamp announced her happy news on Instagram, congratulations poured in from the fellow Housewives and other Bravo stars.
“Congrats again Teddi 😇,” wrote Garcelle Beauvais, who Bravo recently announced would be joining the RHOBH cast next season.
“Awe congratulations honey! Wishing you a beautiful healthy pregnancy and baby,” commented RHOC’s Vicki Gunvalson.
“This is so amazing. I’m so incredibly happy for y’all. ❤️❤️❤️,” gushed Vanderpump Rules’s Stassi Schroeder.
“Congrats girlie!!” wrote Monique Samuels of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
“I’m so excited for Teddi and Edwin!” RHOBH’s Kyle Richards told Us Weekly. “They’re both wonderful parents, and I’m so happy their family is growing. The first RHOBH baby!”
Lisa Rinna is ready to host a baby shower
One of Mellencamp’s RHOBH co-stars is definitely ready to celebrate Mellencamp’s pregnancy. Lisa Rinna had a simple response to the exciting news. “#BABYSHOWER,” she wrote.
The daughter of singer John Mellencamp seemed on board with Rinna’s plan, replying “cannot wait!!!”
Fans were definitely excited about the possibility of a shower hosted by Rinna. “Cannot wait for the baby shower dance moves!!!,” wrote one. “#tabledancing !!” commented another, referring to the former Melrose Place star’s moves at Andy Cohen’s baby shower in January. At the bash, Rinna urged some of the other housewives to stand on tables and chairs as they danced to songs like “I Will Survive” and “Disco Inferno.”
“Get up on the table and dance for f**king Andy Cohen and the baby!” she said at the party. Hopefully, Mellencamp’s baby shower is just as fun — and just as memorable.
