Kerry (played by Laura Norton) finally broke down over the death of Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) in Friday’s edition of Emmerdale after the authorities closed their investigation into the factory fire, ruling the deceased as the perpetrator.

Viewers of the ITV soap know Kerry and her daughter Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) are the true culprits who caused the blaze, tampering with the CCTV which sparked the fire after they stole from the factory safe.

Amy has been wracked with guilt over her part in Frank’s untimely death, with Kerry doing her best to ensure the victim of the fire became the investigator’s sole line of interest.

With Kerry now admitting she’s struggling to get to grips with the crime she committed and the death of beloved villager, could she turn to Frank’s daughter Tracy (Amy Walsh) to relinquish herself of guilt but be killed in the process?

Tracy was left heartbroken by Frank’s death, as he only found himself inside the factory because he was trying to save her after she got stuck in cupboard whilst waiting for boyfriend Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) to have a steamy dalliance.

The distraught villager felt an immense sense of guilt over Frank’s death, which caused an initial dispute with sister Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) as the vet discovered the circumstances behind her father coming to be in the factory.

Vanessa and Tracy have since put their differences aside, but if the latter were to discover Kerry was the real reason her father had been killed and blamed for the blaze, she would surely be out for blood.

Earlier this year, Tracy was part of the revenge pact against child groomer Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) who had been having an illicit affair with her former step-son, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).

Jacob’s mother figure chased Maya through a darkened woods in the midst of nightfall and although the child groomer survived the ordeal with a few cuts and bruises, the moment proved Tracy has it in her to seek deals revenge.

As Kerry’s cracks are surely to start becoming more evident, will a shock confession from the factory arsonist lead Tracy to kill her father’s murderer?

Isn’t Kerry due some leave?

Some fans of the show are already calling for Kerry to exit after she and daughter Amy got away with causing the factory fire.

Taking to Twitter, one fan posted: “Isn’t Kerry due some leave? A spell in prison would do! #Emmerdale.”

Another posted: “When are Kerry and Amy getting their Comeuppance (and by comeuppance i mean their Exit’s not redemption!) #Emmerdale.”

Although a stint in prison could be one way out for the pair, could Kerry’s death be the brutal twist to conclude the drama surrounding the factory fire?

Elsewhere in the Dales, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) could be about to discover he has a secret sibling when he tries to help father Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards).

Upcoming scenes will see Bear ask Paddy for a favour and although the vet is initially tentative, his father tells him he wants to read out some letters his son’s birth mother wrote to him.

As Paddy begins to read out the letter, he has to alter the truth about what’s written inside as he comes across a startling discovery.

Although Paddy harbours the truth to begin with, he comes to the realisation his father will be able to read the letters for himself eventually.

Will Paddy tell Bear exactly what his mother’s secret was?

Could the revelation be Paddy has a sibling as Bear and his birth mother conceived another child shortly after their son was born?

Emmerdale continues Monday at 7pm on ITV.
