Debenhams ‘Wonderland is Waiting’ ad stars Alison Hammond

Alison Hammond has hinted she could be stepping back from her This Morning role to pursue other dreams.

The popular presenter confessed: “I love my job and I’m good at it.

“But I’ve always got plans, things I want to do next. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked for my own show.”

Speaking to Women’s Own magazine, she continued: “That’s what I want, a show called Alison.

“It might get to the point where I just make it myself!”

Alison currently presents the Friday instalment of This Morning alongside Dermot O’Leary.

While this has been the case for some time, both presenters have taken on bigger roles on the show since Phillip Schofield and later Holly Willoughby left as the main presenters.

Speaking in the same interview, Alison also admitted she’d like to join Loose Women.

The 48-year-old appeared as a guest host between 2002 and 2004 and seems keen to join the growing panel.

It’s been a tough year for This Morning, with Phillip making a controversial exit back in May after admitting to having had an affair with a younger colleague.

Holly presented with a rotation of other hosts including Alison, Dermot, Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rylan Clark and Rochelle Humes.

However last month she too decided to call it a day on the ITV programme.

Currently, the other names are continuing to share the role, with Alison and Dermot usually sticking to their typical Friday stint.

At the moment, Josie is taking part in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! meaning even less presenters are available to front the show.

With Alison potentially eyeing up other passions, the programme may need new recruits soon.

ITV is yet to confirm any new or permanent hosts they have in mind to replace those who have left the show in 2023.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
