Children in Need 2023: Doctor Who Special
Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas is going to be starring in Doctor Who, it has been revealed.
The revelation came during a discussion on Wednesday’s instalment of Morning Live.
Hosts Gethin Jones and Michelle Ackerley were speaking to Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies regarding the upcoming 60th anniversary specials.
Gethin was quick to mention his brief stint in the BBC series back in 2006 as Cyberman, although he was quick to mention another person in the studio who was going to be a part of the Doctor Who family.
He said: “I’m just thinking there’s somebody else in this studio who might be appearing, potentially on Doctor Who.”

Russell replied: “Do you mean the top secret information that Shirley Ballas is going to appear in Doctor Who?”
Wanting to know more about her upcoming stint in the BBC show, Gethin asked what she was able to tell viewers.
She replied: “Well I can tell you the filming was one of the best days of my life.
“We’re doing a guest appearance with Jojo [which could refer to Johannes Radebe]. I actually get to perform with Jojo and so many other dancers on the show, so I’m very very excited for people to watch.”
