COPS have launched a murder investigation after a 19-year-old was found seriously injured.

The young woman was pronounced dead at the scene at a student halls, Arbour House on Sebastian Street, Clerkenwell, London.

Cops were called to the address close to City University of London at 5.10am this morning to reports of a woman injured.

But despite the best efforts of the emergency services she died at the scene.

Police are now trying to identify the woman and inform her next of kin – and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

So far no arrests have been made – and cops remain at the scene.

One student who lives in the building told MyLondon how students are leaving their accommodation after the incident.

Anna, 20, from Romania said: "I feel really uncomfortable. She was quite close to my age. Police were on my floor banging on doors. It was scary."

A Unite Students spokesperson said: “As this remains an on-going police incident, we are unable to comment on their investigation.

“Our priority at this time is the safety and wellbeing of students at Arbour House. We are working closely with the police and City, University of London.”
