After Donald Trump's first wife's death on July 14, 2022, the former President took a break from his Save America rallies supporting Republicans running for office in the 2022 mid-term elections.

He was scheduled to hold his Arizona rally on Saturday the 16th, but “out of love and respect” for Ivana Trump, 73, he postponed the event to Friday, July 22.

The rally is set to take place at Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.

On June 18, 2022, Trump held his American Freedom Tour event in Memphis, Tennessee.

He was joined on stage by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Dinesh D'Souza, Mark Burns, Sheriff Mark Lamb and a number of other conservative speakers at Landers Center.

On Saturday, May 28, he made his first-ever appearance at a rally in Casper, Wyoming, where he endorsed GOP congressional candidate Harriet Hageman, who will be challenging Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming.

Previously, former President Donald Trump headlined the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in Texas on Friday, May 27.

In a post via Truth Social, Trump said he would be keeping his "longtime commitment" to speak at the event in Houston because the country needs "real solutions and real leadership at this moment."

The news comes after a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas left at least 19 students and two teachers dead.

According to NPR, attendees were not able to carry guns during his address and were searched with magnetometers before entry by Secret Service.

He showed his support for Republican candidate Harriet Hageman, who is campaigning against Liz Cheney.

Over the years, Trump and Cheney have not seen eye-to-eye and have called each other out on several occasions.

In October 2021, Trump went as far as calling her a "smug fool" after she backed a criminal contempt vote against former White House aide Stephen Bannon, The Hill reports.

"Low-polling Liz Cheney is actually very bad news for the Democrats, people absolutely cannot stand her as she fights for the people that have decimated her and her father for many years," Trump said at the time.

"She is a smug fool, and the great State of Wyoming, together with the Republican Party, fully understands her act. To look at her is to despise her," he continued.

Cheney then clapped back in January 2022 after she blamed him for the January 6 Capitol Riots and said that he is "clearly unfit for future office [and] clearly can never be anywhere near the Oval Office ever again."

"He crossed lines no American president has ever crossed before," Cheney said during an appearance on This Week, via ABC News.

"When a president refuses to tell the mob to stop, when he refuses to defend any of the coordinate branches of government, he cannot be trusted."

Previously, Trump campaigned in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and showed his support for GOP US Senate candidate and TV personality Dr Mehmet Oz.

The event started at 4pm EST and was held at the Farm at 96, just 30 miles southeast of Raleigh.

His stop in North Carolina came just days after he was seen in Michigan supporting Matt DePerno, a Kalamazoo attorney and candidate for attorney general, and Kristina Karamo, a candidate for secretary of state.

What is Trump's lawsuit against the New York attorney general?

In January 2022, Trump canceled a press conference he had planned to hold in Florida on the anniversary of the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

In a statement released, Trump stated that he would rather air his issues at a rally scheduled for a later date.

"In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media," Trump wrote.

He added, "I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona."

The event would have been Trump's second press conference since leaving office.

At 12.47pm ET, another statement from the former president was shared on Twitter by the Right Side Broadcasting Network.

"To watch Biden speaking is very hurtful to many people," he wrote.

"He acts like he's aggrieved, but we're the ones who were aggrieved and America is suffering because of it."

Trump had also filed a lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The lawsuit alleges, "Letitia James is guided solely by political animus and a desire to harass, intimidate and retaliate against a private citizen who she views as a political opponent."

Trump's attorney, Alina Habba, added, "By filing this lawsuit, we intend to not only hold her accountable for her blatant constitutional violations but to stop her bitter crusade to punish her political opponent in its tracks."

James released a statement regarding the lawsuit.

"The Trump Organization has continually sought to delay our investigation into its business dealings and now Donald Trump and his namesake company have filed a lawsuit as an attempted collateral attack on that investigation," the statement read.

James also wrote the "investigation will continue undeterred because no one is above the law, not even someone with the name Trump."
