DONALD Trump looks set to tee up new political headquarters after announcing he is 'serious' about running again for presidency in 2024.

The former US leader is reportedly relocating to his Bedminster golf club in New Jersey – temporarily quitting his plush Florida resort Mar-A-Lago.

Days ago, the former US leader admitted he missed "helping people" since leaving the White House, telling Sean Hannity he's more popular now than he was before the 2020 election.

Now, according to close advisers, Trump might move his home base to Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

One source told Business Insider: “They’re moving the whole operation to New Jersey because they’re going to start doing more fundraising.”

When he was president, Trump used to spend the summer months at his Bedminster golf club and his winter months at Mar-a-Lago.

He has remained at the latter resort since January 20, 2021, and is said to be keen to leave Palm Beach's hot, sticky weather for the cooler climes of New Jersey.

Summer in central Florida sees the weather in June, July, and August "become unbearably hot and humid – not to mention it's also hurricane season," says Bustle.

Mar-A-Lago closes after Memorial Day, with the private club reopening for Thanksgiving.

Apart from escaping the heat, the New Jersey move would also place Trump closer to New York City – which is obviously a major fundraising location.

The Center for Responsive Politics reported that residents in NYC's metropolitan area donated $18.5million to his 2020 re-election campaign.

The Bedminister golf club was opened in 2004 and it is located about an hour from Trump Tower in Manhattan.

While speaking to Sean Hannity, Trump said about a potential 2024 run: "I am looking at it very seriously, beyond seriously.

"From a legal standpoint, I don't really want to talk about it yet."

When Hannity asked Trump what he missed the most about his time in office, he said it was the opportunity to "help people."

"I miss the most … helping people, because I can directly help people," Trump said.

"That's why I did it. This has been a very traumatic… I had a great life, great company, great business, no problems – and now all I do is people go after you… it's vicious, it's horrible.

"But you know what? I love doing it because I help people — and I've helped them more than any president," he added, before rattling off a list of his accomplishments.

The former president wouldn't confirm or deny whether he actually planned to try for the top job again.

But he did tell Hannity that if Republicans wanted to win elections, they should run on his Make America Great Again agenda.

Asset-rich Trump boasts a portfolio heaving with at least eight homes and a whopping 19 golf courses, according to a 2020 Business Insider article.

His entire portfolio – which stretches from the US to Scotland – has been valued at an eye-watering $2.5billion (£2million), added the Associated Press.

Trump's portfolio includes office and condo towers, golf courses and branding deals that have been valued at "$2.5billion (£2billion)," the AP reported.
