A SOZZLED lout battered her neighbour after being told to keep the noise down following a marathon nine-hour booze session.

Samantha Southall, 31, was like a "boxer going in for the kill" when she repeatedly punched Samantha White as she cowered on the ground.

She was left with bruises to her face, head, and chest following the savage attack at her home in Spondon, Derbys.

Southall claimed Ms White had yelled at her to "keep your f***ing noise down" when she left a pub singing after necking pints of cider.

She insisted she had only attacked her neighbour in self defence, but she has now been found guilty of assault at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court.

The yob avoided jail and was instead handed a six-month jail term, suspended for a year.

'GOING IN FOR THE KILL'

Ms White told the court she had shouted out of her bedroom window at Southall and a pal she was with to be quiet as they walked home on September 5 last year.

She said the thug then flipped out and punched her at least ten times leaving her with horror injuries.

Ms White, who has since moved out of the area, added: "It was like she was a boxer, like she knew what she was doing, she was fast, very fit.

“I remember a lot of punches by her, she did not want to get off.

“She was going in for the kill.”

'I TOLD HER TO F**K OFF'

Southall told JPs she had been drinking in the Canal Turn on the night of the brutal attack with a male friend, who has a warrant out for his arrest after failing to turn up to court to face the same charge.

She claimed she had sunk up to five pints of cider between 12pm and 9.30pm before leaving the pub "singing loudly for all to hear”.

Giving evidence, she added: "She [Ms White] shouted out a window ‘keep your f***ing noise down’ so I stuck two fingers up at her and told her to f**k off’.

“I did not think anything of it and carried on walking and the next thing I remember was being pulled backwards by the hair by her.

“She grabbed my ponytail and pulled my head forward.”

The lout tried worming her way out of the attack by claiming she had “flailed her arms around with clenched fists”, which must have connected with the victim.

Her lawyer also argued she had suffered personal tragedy leading up to the assault – including the death of her brother, dad, baby nephew and grandfather.

But she was slammed by Judge Jonathan Bennett for punching Ms White even when she lay on the floor defenceless during the "unpleasant incident".

Southall, of Chaddesden, must attend ten rehabilitation days with the probation service as part of her suspended sentence.
