KILLER Paralympian Oscar Pistorius could be free in two years after a legal blunder emerged.

The former sprinter, 34, was convicted in 2014 of killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp a year earlier.

He blasted her through a door with a 9mm pistol, claiming he thought she was an intruder.

After a series of verdict appeals and challenges, he was sentenced in 2017 to 15 years for murder.

But judges in South Africa have now admitted they failed to fully backdate his jail term to when he was first convicted.

It means 506 days he had already served were not included and he can apply for parole in March 2023 instead of late 2024.

The news — a week before the eighth anniversary of him murdering model Reeva, 29 — has left her family distraught.

Lawyers for her parents June and Barry called the timing “hurtful”.
