Hundreds of fast food fans have been seen queuing out the door at a McDonald’s as they desperately try to get a taste of a chicken snack ahead of its nationwide launch.

The nugget fans descended on a Manchester branch of the fast food empire and waited for hours to try the new Spicy Chicken Nugget before it officially goes on sale next week. 

A total of 600 of the snacks were being given out free of charge at the restaurant on Cross lane, Salford.

The new fiery nugget officially launches on Wednesday next week, and will then be available across the chain for seven weeks.

They come in the usual six, nine or 20 box with a new Tabasco-based spicy tomato dip to give them an extra kick.

Previous versions are already on sale in Asia and US after the exclusive recipe was developed.

The chicken nugget variety is also already permanently on sale in Australia.
