Incredible pictures show people walking across the £415million Hochmosel Bridge in Germany, which is due to open this week after eight years of construction.
The bridge – located in the Zeltingen-Rachtig municipality of south west Germany – soars 500 feet above the Moselle Valley and is now the country’s second tallest bridge.
Second only to the Kocher Viaduct in Schwäbisch Hall, this construction spans 1.7 kilometers and links the areas of Eifel and Hunsrück as it crosses over some of the country’s finest and most historic vineyards.
The superstructure is intended to facilitate the flow of traffic between the Benelux countries and the greater Frankfurt area.
However, not everyone will be celebrating the bridge’s completion as since the planning stages, the gigantic project has attracted controversy.
Critics have questioned whether the bridge is worth the million-dollar price tag and complained that the concrete mega-structure is an eyesore.

It stretches over the hilly and picturesque Moselle valley between Eifel and Hunsrück and will be opened to traffic on November 21
The bridge will also connect Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, where the low-budget airlines Ryanair and Wizzair operate, to the Eifel region near the border with Belgium
