OUR smartphone photo competition finished yesterday – showing just how far the cameras have come in the last decade.

From monks walking over a wooden bridge in Cambodia, to a cheeky cat grinning for the camera, we have been blown away by the incredible entries and will be announcing the winner soon.

The Sun’s legendary royal photographer Arthur Edwards says: “The standards are very high and I’m extremely impressed. I’ve got great faith in the iPhone and think it’s a brilliant camera.

“Used properly, you can get the greatest picture in the world. My favourite is the close-up of the flying ant – I would have been pleased to have taken it myself.”

Georgette Culley and Katy Docherty present some of the best snaps.
