Child, 10, and two adults are victims of horror ‘acid attack’ at their home in North London after answering door to ‘stranger’

A 10-year-old child is among three victims of a suspected acid attack in North London last night after a stranger allegedly knocked on their front door.   

Emergency crews rushed to the flats in Beaufort Park in Colindale following reports of a ‘corrosive substance’ being thrown on the child at around 7.20pm.    

Officers found the child, a 36-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man injured after a corrosive substance was reportedly thrown at them.

The victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and have since been discharged, the Met Police confirmed.

No arrests have been made yet and detectives still investigating, the force said – adding that officers were treated at the scene after entering the address. 

Photos show a large black mark burned into the floor outside the flat with streaks of liquid still visible on the door frame. 

Horrified neighbours told the Sun the three people were attacked when a ‘stranger’ knocked on their door and chucked the substance.

Someone else told the newspaper: ‘Apparently a stranger knocked on their door, they opened and were attacked.’ 

Following the attack, locals in the area were advised to stay indoors as police attended to the injured, according to reports on social media. 

A spokesman for the Met said: ‘An investigation is underway following an incident in Colindale where a corrosive substance was thrown. 

‘No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
