Shrewd Britons are ‘cashing in’ on Beyoncé’s UK leg of her blockbuster world tour by renting out their driveways and parking spaces to excited concert-goers.

The Single Ladies hitmaker is set to perform at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium this evening with almost 75,000 fans flocking to the arena for the Renaissance tour.

People are expected to travel from around the UK and all over the world to attend the hotly anticipated tour.

Some local residents, schools, rugby clubs, hotels and businesses are charging up to £40 to use their car parking spaces, as public transport is expected to be extremely busy.

A number of spaces up for rent close to the Principality Stadium on the app JustPark had sold out ahead of this evening.

Meanwhile, a primary school within a 25-minute walk of the stadium was charging £30 for car parking, while parking spaces were going at a rugby club for £40.

People were also advertising their driveways for rent in north London, close to where Beyoncé is performing five nights at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium later this month.

One astute person had advertised their driveway, a 20-minute walk from the stadium, for the Beyoncé concert on SpareRoom – charging £30 for the day.

Fans also took to social media to advertise their driveways close to where she is playing in Tottenham and encouraged others to do the same.

One person said: ‘ATTN ANYONE GOING TO BEYONCE’S CONCERT IN TOTTENHAM! I have a driveway that can be used if driving to concert! Located on the road of the stadium (Northumberland park) Will of course come at a cost. DM me’.

Another wrote: ‘I’m so glad I have a friend that lives in Tottenham that has a driveway bc there is no way I’m getting the train to see Beyonce’.

A third posted: ‘If you live in Tottenham or Edmonton, it’s probs worth looking into renting out your driveway for the week of the Beyoncé concert you’ll make a killing.’

And anticipation is already mounting ahead of her first UK date on her Renaissance world tour as fans have taken to social media to share their excitement.

Meanwhile, some passersby took to the social media platform to claim they had spotted very eager fans waiting outside the Principality Stadium as early as 7am.

One person shared a photograph of a group of fans appearing to be sitting outside the stadium at 7am as excitement mounted in the Welsh capital city.

Another person tweeted: ‘Happy Beyoncé day to those going tonight! And to the rest of us who live/work in south Wales, I wish you all the luck in surviving a 75k strong beehive descending onto the streets of Cardiff.

‘I walked past Principality at 8.15 and there was queueing at the gate.’

Following her Cardiff show, Beyoncé is set to take to the stage at Edinburgh’s BT Murrayfield Stadium on May 20, before heading to Sunderland on May 23 to perform at the Stadium of Light.

She will then head across to France to perform at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on May 26, before heading back to London for a string of shows.

Beyoncé will take to the state at Tottenham’s Hotspur Stadium for five dates across the end of May and the start of June, before jetting back to Europe for more shows.

The star kicked off her Renaissance world tour in Stockholm, Sweden, earlier this month.

Her Renaissance world tour could out-earn Taylor Swift’s phenomenally successful Eras Tour, it has been predicted.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker has kicked off her first solo tour in seven years, with the star set to do battle with Taylor’s 52 date concert tour, which broke Ticketmaster records with single day sales of two million.

But Beyoncé’s 41 date tour, which ends in North America in September, could gross between up to more than £2bn, which would smash The Eras Tour’s £1.5bn projection, according to Forbes.

Beyoncé released Renaissance, her seventh studio album containing the hit track Break My Soul, in July 2022.

The album won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album in February.

She also took home two gongs at this year’s BRIT Awards – winning International Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for Break My Soul.

Beyoncé’s last solo tour was the Formation World Tour in 2016 to support her sixth album, Lemonade – in 2018 she went on the On The Run Tour with her husband, Jay-Z.
