A PUB’S roast dinner is proving so popular there is a three-year waiting list.
Sunday lunch at The Bank Tavern, named best in Britain last year, is booked up until April 2023.
The boozer has just seven tables with space for up to 40 diners.
For just £9.95, they can choose from beef, pork, chicken or a veggie option, served with roast spuds, Yorkshire pudding, swede puree, creamy leeks and seasonal vegetables. Three courses cost £14.95.
The chefs provide around 160 roasts a week, with tables available only for an hour and 45 minutes.
The meat is sourced from West Country farms while landlord Sam Gregory often catches and serves up locally sourced deer and rabbit.
And regulars at the Bristol boozer are known to chip in with surplus produce from their allotments.
A spokesman said: “We’re fully booked until April 2023. There is nothing standard about our Sunday roasts.”
Last year, the Observer Food Monthly Awards named the Bank Tavern’s roast the best in the UK.
It also topped the 2018 Bristol Good Food Awards. During lockdown, landlord Sam supplied hundreds of takeaway meals.
He said: “We don’t repeat the same menu and although we always have beef we also do pork, some vegetarian options and perhaps venison or poultry.
“We change the starters and desserts weekly so the menu is never the same.”
